Chrysler Canada is recalling 1,424 vehicles due to a potential failure of the 8-speed automatic transmission's output shaft. Affected models include the
2013 Ram 1500, as well as the
Chrysler 300 and
Dodge Charger with all-wheel drive.
If the output shaft were to fail while the vehicle is being driven, it could result in a loss of propulsion. If this were to occur while the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied, it could result in unintended vehicle movement. Both situations could increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will therefore replace the transmission in all affected vehicles.
