Nissan Micra S $10,488 (plus $1,670 transport and preparation)
The little Nissan Micra is the Spark’s fiercest rival in the featherweight class, in terms of not only its price but also its dimensions as a city car. Unfortunately the Micra S doesn’t come with a touchscreen or connectivity system.
At this price, however, the Japanese automaker’s small car is a good choice for students who don't feel the need to attract attention, or pay through the nose for maintenance. The Micra S, with its 5-speed manual, also happens to be quite fun to drive.
