This has been repeated as nauseum, but there’s a reason why the Civic has been the top-selling car in Canada for 20 years straight.
For sure, price does remain relevant for buyers in this category, but in the case of the Civic, its excellent platform is a sure selling point. The most recent edition rests on a very rigid platform, which is certainly a plus when exploring rougher country roads, and its interior is much better put together than in the past. Under the hood, meanwhile, the two available 4-cylinder engines are well-suited to the sedan’s chassis. It’s just a shame that the hatchback version is so costly!
