German automaker BMW has announced that they will premiere several hot new models at the Montreal Auto Show press day on January 17th 2008. Taking the stand are the 1-Series coupe, X6 Sports Activity Coupe and the new V8-powered M3 coupe. The Cooper Clubman model from the groups Mini brand will also be presented.

Clubman is a stretched Mini, offering more passenger and cargo volume than the standard model, while featuring the same inspired driving experience and technologies that have made the smaller models a hit.

The BMW "1" is set for a launch this spring, representing a brand new series for the North American market. BMW promises exceptional dynamics and above-average performance with an optional twin-turbocharged and intercooled six-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower. The turbo engine is hailed for its exciting performance, versatility and respectable fuel economy.

For buyers after something a little larger, BMW will introduce the X6 Sports Activity Coupe- a world first. The new model combines the sleek style of a BMW coupe with the capability and dynamics of an X model. X6 features all wheel drive combined with a selection of twin turbo engines- the largest of which being a turbocharged V8 packing 400 horsepower. X6 goes on sale in mid 2008.

The Montreal International Auto Show runs Friday, January 18 to Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Palais des congres de Montreal.
