Two years and over 300,000 units after the launch of the Morgan, Dacia is set to expand upon its model range with the new Logan MCV (Multi Convivial Vehicle). An extremely spacious estate (that's European for wagon, by the way) it has a fantastic load capacity and enhanced versatility over its saloon (sedan) counterpart.

Designed to attract sales and explore new growth markets for Renault, the Dacia Logan will be produced in seven different countries for 2007, most of which will see the machine sold under the Dacia brand.

The MCV's styling is function first and form second, with a split rear door and understated front fascia with fog lamps and a chrome grille. It looks more like a miniaturized utility van than a family wagon, while the interior features smart looking gauges, cloth seating and plenty of flexible room.

hree engines are available ranging from 75 to 105 horsepower and feature multipoint fuel injection. Further, Dacia's Logan offers up a 1.5 litre diesel engine with 70 horsepower. These powerplants meet criteria for cost and efficiency while enabling performance of 0-100 kph in between 12 and 18 seconds.

It seems that with its versatile space, economical operation and choice of engines, the Logan MCV is ready to take on the needs of the masses while helping parent Renault to grow the Dacia brand.
