Mazda has issued two separate recalls affecting two of its models. The first concerns 7,575 Mazda6 models from 2009 and 2010, and addresses problems with the SRS (supplemental restraint system) controller module. In some of the models identified, airbags and seatbelt pretensioners may not deploy in the event of a crash due to a defect in the SRS, creating a risk of injuries to the vehicles’ occupants. Take note that in cases where the SRS is defective, an SRS warning light on the dashboard would be activated.

The second recall affects 28,727 2007 to 2012-model year Mazda CX-7s and involves the front suspension, the ball joint of which could separate from the lower control arm if corrosion occurs due to saltwater infiltration. This could result in the driver losing control of the vehicle.
Owners of cars affected by either of the recalls should bring their vehicle to their dealership, which will carry out the needed repairs.
