The Honda CR-Z Mugen RR concept was initially unveiled in early July in the Moving Motor Show area of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The car, built exclusively for show purposes, sports numerous potential new body add-ons custom built for the sporty two-door hybrid.

Of the many prototype parts, a large number of them are made of lite and exotic carbon-fibre including the bonnet, passenger doors and tailgate. Mugen did not stop there. They went so far as to build a full length carbon-fibre underbody and a vented front bumper.

From a mechanical stand-point, Mugen Euro added twin central-exit exhaust pipes, a race-developed suspension and quad-piston monobloc brake callipers. Black forged 18-inch alloy wheels nicely round out the Valencia Orange Pearl exterior shell.

The interior of the car does get a quick once over as well, gaining leather/Alcantara seats and an information screen which doubles as a navigation system. This digital display records various levels of data and can “learn” a circuit and then record lap data and vehicle tracking using GPS.

Once again, proof that the CR-Z holds much promise!
