On Wednesday, Chrysler unveiled the North American version of the athletic 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The heart and soul of the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth obviously lies under the hood in the form of a 1.4L, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. A total of 160 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque are available through a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Considering its weight of only 2,533 lbs (1,151 kg), it's pretty safe to assume that the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth will deliver exhilarating performance.
Chrysler engineers also upgraded the suspension and brakes in order to help the car handle the extra output. Meanwhile, a new sport exhaust system with dual tailpipes promises killer sound effects.
Clearly, this Fiat 500 Abarth is no run-of-the-mill subcompact.
