The new Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 enjoyed its Canadian premiere on Monday at the 2016 Quebec City Auto Show. Starting at $233,985, this is the exotic Italian manufacturer’s entry-level model, below the LP 610-4 our very own Matt St-Pierre tested last summer.

Built on an aluminum and carbon fibre frame with aluminum and composite body panels, the Huracán LP 580-2 weighs just 1,389 kilograms. Aesthetically, it benefits from new bumpers, tailpipes, and rear gills, along with 19” Kari wheels. Of course, there are endless possibilities for colours and trims both inside and out.

The Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 is motivated by a 5.2L V10 engine that produces 572 horsepower and 397 lb-ft of torque via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 320 km/h. Unlike other Huracán models, it uses rear-wheel drive only.

Maximizing fun behind the wheel and improving agility is a dedicated steering setup. Chassis tuning, driving mode calibration, and stability/traction control systems are also specific to this model.
