In spectacular fashion, Jaguar finally introduced its first-ever luxury SUV, the 2017 F-PACE, at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

On the eve of the show, the vehicle was driven with daring precision by expert British stunt driver Terry Grant. The F-PACE defied gravity and withstood extreme forces of 6.5G as it completed a giant 19.08-metre tall loop structure – actually breaking the Guinness World Record for largest ever 'loop the loop' in the process.

Described by Jaguar as “the world’s ultimate practical sports car,” the new F-PACE takes many design cues from the C-X17 concept. It can seat five people and carry their luggage in world-class comfort and luxury.

In North America, three engine options will be available starting with 340- and 380-horsepower supercharged V6 engines mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Later in 2016, Jaguar will add a 180-horsepower 4-cylinder diesel engine from the new Ingenium family, dropping the base price to $40,990 USD (Canadian pricing has yet to be announced).

In terms of design, the Jaguar F-PACE is based on the company’s Lightweight Aluminum Architecture. It features a muscular grille and hood, slender full-LED headlights, and 22” forged alloy wheels. Inside, look for a 10.2” touchscreen with Ethernet, Wi-Fi connectivity for up to eight devices, navigation, and more. The cargo area has a capacity of 650 litres.

To celebrate the launch, an exclusive F-PACE First Edition will be sold to 2,000 customers globally. It’s the third model to benefit from the Jaguar Care program which includes maintenance, roadside assistance, and a 3-year/unlimited km warranty.

"Two years ago, Jaguar revealed the C-X17, right here in Frankfurt. Since that time we have been inundated with people asking us to make it and it was this growing interest that inspired us to create the F-PACE First Edition – a Special Edition to celebrate the C-X17 concept,” said Gerd Mauser, Chief Marketing Officer for Jaguar Land Rover. "With only 2,000 units available globally, we expect the Jaguar F-PACE First Edition to sell out – we are receiving an incredible amount of interest from customers who want to be the first and who want the best."
