There are many other interesting additions -- visual and mechanical components -- that can be installed on Hyundais to boost the adrenaline factor. Obviously, the Tiburon coupe is the car most likely to be tuned. A couple of models had been set up for the occasion, sporting superchargers and reworked exhausts, among other things. How can you not love the 70+ additional horsepower and goose bumps when entering corners?
On the other hand, stability is still a question mark; the Tiburon requires a bit of skill from the driver to be totally mastered on the track. On highways, there's no need for a high-performance Tiburon, so we tested the redesigned-for-2007 model with nothing more than a new face.
Yet, I have to admit that the Tiburon continues to be "in" and, starting under $20,000, it certainly is the deal of the year in the sport compact segment.
One final word for performance enthusiasts: the mightiest of all Tiburons at Dunnville boasted a 300-hp engine and an AWD system. Unfortunately, we could not try it out for a simple reason: it's the race car of Canadian rally champion Antoine Lestage, who was also on hand to announce a new partnership with Hyundai.
So I ask you again: what if your Hyundai became a pocket rocket? Besides, these new Hyundai performance parts do not compromise your original warranty. Talk about one sweet offer!
