Hyundai has just announced that they'll be offering Canadians a "Holiday Gift Event" in hopes of keeping potential car buyers on this side of the border as Christmas shopping shifts into high gear. The Event starts today.
In the past week, a half dozen or more carmakers have announced similar pricing programs, intended to reflect the stronger value of the Canadian dollar and bring pricing on par with what's paid by our neighbors in the south.
Hyundai's offer includes cash-back from $3,000 to $5,000 on selected 2007 model year vehicles, and significantly reduced financing rates of as little as 0%. These savings come in addition o a GST reduction program which has already been announced- effectively allowing customers to pay 5% GST on all 2007 and 2008 machines.
"We know Canadian customers are looking for a reason to purchase a vehicle in Canada right now," said John Vernile, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. "This Hyundai cash-back and rate-reduced program is that reason. While the cash-back offers are significant, the real savings to Canadians come in our 0% finance and lease rates."
Shoppers can expect $3,000 back on Tiburon, and up to $5,500 back on the Azera luxury sedan and Entourage minivan.
Hyundai also notes that in the USA, purchase or lease financing is not available to Canadian residents.
