In an effort to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and maximize their environmental and economic benefits, Plug'n Drive officially opened the Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre in northern Toronto earlier this month. It is reportedly the world's first experiential learning facility dedicated to EV education and awareness.

"The EV Discovery Centre will serve as an EV hub for consumers throughout Ontario and for visitors from around the world," said Cara Clairman, President and CEO of Plug'n Drive. "We are providing a one-stop-shop where consumers can explore and test-drive the latest EV models—alongside charging solutions at home and on the road."

The models she’s talking about include the BMW i3, Chevrolet Bolt EV, Ford C-Max Energi and Nissan LEAF.

Visitors will also learn about the things they need to consider to make an EV their next vehicle purchase. Those who show interest will be referred to an EV-certified dealership in their area.

Located at 1126 Finch Avenue West in North York, the new Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre will be a key component in accomplishing Ontario's goal to expand EV sales to 5% of all new vehicles sold by 2020. They currently represent less than 1%.
