Bringing Lincoln into the 2009 model year with exclusive features at a great price is the job of their up and coming MKS flagship. Slotted in above the MKZ, it's slated to be the shining star of the Lincoln brand when it hits showrooms this summer.

The cover was pulled off the MKS's striking new sheetmetal to reveal a double-winged front grille treatment that sweeps into jewel-like headlamps, while strong shoulders and dramatic lines help it to exude confidence from any angle.

This is a heck of a looker, and it will feature several rare or exclusive features to help set it apart as well. These include SYNC, which allows voice-commanded control of wireless devices through integration with the on-board entertainment system. SYNC can play music from a wireless phone, dial a number or read text messages aloud, for instance.

The next-generation of Lincoln's popular keypad system is fitted to the MKS as well. It's now totally embedded into the B-Pillar and activated by the heat of drivers fingertips.

The MKS benefits from powerplants that have been extensively tuned to help owners save fuel. The standard engine is a 3.7 litre derivative of the award-winning 3.5 litre DURATEC mill found in several current models. The increase in displacement bumps power modestly to 270 horsepower, though it packs more torque for performance.

The buzz around the stand mainly focused on the optional 'EcoBoost' powerplant- which will pack V8 power and V6 fuel efficiency while making the MKS one of the most powerful and fuel efficient AWD cars on the market.

'T' stands for Touring, says Lincoln. The MKT is a 4-passengercrossover-type vehicle, and as with the MKS, it demonstrates the new directionthat the brand's design is taking.

Under the hood, the MKT features a turbocharged 3.7-liter V6equipped with Ford's EcoBoost technology, and produces an estimated 340horsepower as well over 340 lb-ft of torque.

The interior features spacious accommodations for alloccupants and hosts soothing colours and materials. Theenvironmentally-friendly MKT has, for example, hand-knotted rugs made frombanana silk.

The dashboard also features LED ambient lighting, and twoLCD screens drop down from a floating overhead console to provide rearoccupants with on-screen conference calling.
