General Motors of Canada has issued a recall on 10,427 Chevrolet Orlando crossovers from the 2012-2014 model years due to potential airbag troubles.
On certain vehicles, corrosion in the driver and passenger airbag wiring harness connectors could cause a fault in the airbag sensing system. This could result in the airbag light illuminating on the instrument cluster and a "Service Air Bag" message to appear in the Driver Information Centre.
Over time, the corrosion could reach a level where the front airbags and seatbelt pretensioners would not deploy in a crash. Imagine the consequences.
Chevy dealers will therefore repair the driver and passenger airbag wiring harness at no cost to owners.
