OVER 1000 PEOPLE REGISTERED, WITH STOPS IN VANCOUVER AND TORONTO STILL TO COME
After only four months of operation, the BMW Driver Training Program has registered over 1000 participants. During the program's initial two stops in Toronto (in April and in July/August) participation was at 95% and 99% capacity, respectively. Attendance was equally as good in Montreal where over 200 students attended the program in June/July. Due to its overwhelming popularity, BMW Driver Training will return to Toronto in October after a two-week program in Vancouver.

The Driver Training program is open to all Canadian drivers aged 18 and over who are in possession of a valid, full class driver's license. Individuals do not need to own a BMW to participate.

"The drivers will receive instruction from professional driving instructors to develop, train and test their reflexes in everyday and emergency situations, '' explains Andrew Doyle, Marketing Communications Manager for BMW Canada Inc. "The courses progress from Advanced to Fascination."

BMW Advanced Driver Training is offered as a one-day foundation course that focuses on inner city driving. Conducted in a fleet of BMW 330Ci Coupes, the Advanced Driver Training Course covers the fundamentals of good steering, braking and handling on a variety of road conditions.

Students in the next level, BMW Perfection Driver Training, will be introduced to braking into corners and a timed autocross in both a BMW 330 Ci and a BMW M3 Coupe. The exercises will be conducted at higher inter-city speeds and will provide participants the skills to react to a variety of critical emergency situations.
