2013 Santa Fe XL and trees
The next event was the equivalent of a walk in the park with the new oversize Santa Fe XL. On the grounds of the CTMP, a short albeit mildly challenging off-road course was long ago set up and this is where the Santa Fes demonstrated some skills.

The principal reason behind this exercise was to show that if a Santa Fe XL owner really needed to leave the beaten path, they could, and with confidence.

With the autobox in 1st gear, hill-decent activated, and the differential lock on, this short course was no more difficult to traverse than the average mall parking lot.

2013 Genesis Coupe and the track
The highlight of the day was the ability to exploit the Gen Coupe’s RWD chassis and 2.0T and V6 engines to their near fullest.

On the Driver Development Track (DDT), we were saddled behind the wheel of 4- or 6-cylinder powered Coupes and here we explored the near-limits of the car’s adhesion limits and braking power.

The take-away feeling from this exercise was one that further proved the mettle of the sub-$30k 2.0T R-Spec, especially. There are few (if any other) cars that can match the pace of this car in this price range and offer RWD driving dynamics to boot.
