Ford has issued two new recalls and updated a third, existing recall, which together will affect a total of around 12,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

Some of the automaker’s Ford F-150, Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator models may have been received faulty welding on their fuel pump flange. All of these are 2018 models and are equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine.
"… the fuel pump welds in these vehicles may be susceptible to high-cycle fatigue fractures that could cause the fuel pump to move relative to its mounting flange, resulting in eventual loss of the sealing integrity of the cam cover or the fuel lines and an oil or fuel leak, increasing the risk of fire."

The second recall concerns Ford’s F-650 and F-750 models. Plating designed to protect a brake hose (located between the master cylinder and the hydraulic control unit) from corrosion may not have been installed in certain units. This could potentially affect the efficacy of the brakes.
As for the update of the existing recall, it affects 2017 and 2018 Ford Edge SUVs as well as 2017 Lincoln MKZ models equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and the transmission carrying the 6F35 designation. In these models the torque converters might need to be replaced, also due to faulty welding.
The company is not aware of any accidents or injuries resulting from any of these defects.
The statement makes mention of 12,000 vehicles affected by the recall, but it is not known how many of those were bought in Canada. If you own one of the models cited, it is recommended that you contact your dealership to have them check the vehicle.
