A smart gambit aimed at stimulating sales

An improved 2018 Nissan 370Z is now on offer at Nissan dealers across Canada, and consumers will be glad to learn that the new edition keeps its old base price even as it integrates a number of upgrades.

Both the 370Z coupe and the 370Z Roadster feature a remodeled body (and come in an available new striking colour scheme called Passion Red), darker-accented headlights and taillights and a new, obscured rear lower cowl. Inside, two additional speakers have been added to the base-model coupe.

Regarding driving dynamics, Nissan has announced that the torque curve and acceleration have been improved, and that the 6-speed manual gearbox comes with a new high-performance clutch system. The 3.7L V6 generates 332 hp (the same as before), and buyers can still opt for a 7-speed automatic transmission.

A new Sport version has been added to the roster for 2018; it includes 19-inch RAYS alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, Nissan sport brakes, a viscous limited-slip differential, a BOSE audio system and heated exterior side-view mirrors. The new tires reduce roll resistance by 20% and road noise by one decibel without affecting handling, according to the manufacturer.

As for the 350-hp 2018 370Z NISMO, Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT600 high-performance tires (similar to those on the Nissan GT-R) replace the Bridgestone Potenza S001 tires. This version also benefits from a new high-performance clutch, and its aerodynamic elements were inspired by those of the GT-R.
