The revised 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport made its North American debut earlier this month at the Chicago Auto Show. While the vehicle is arriving at U.S. dealers now, its on-sale date for Canada has yet to be announced.

Nearly 350 individual parts were updated, representing about 25% of total Santa Fe Sport content. The improvements span everything from fresh exterior design and LED lighting signatures to additional infotainment, convenience and safety technologies, plus new Drive Mode selection with Sport, Eco, and Normal settings.

Outside, you’ll notice the redesigned front fascia with a brushed-appearance front grille and new headlight design. New LED daytime running lights and fog lights are available. The wheels, taillights, and exhaust outlets were also revised.

The interior of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport features a standard 5.0” colour LCD display audio system with rear-view camera (a 7” display with Android Auto is available) in a redesigned centre stack. More options and safety technologies can be had, too, such as Smart Cruise Control with Stop/Start function, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and Dynamic Bending Lights and High Beam Assist.

There were no changes to the powertrain for 2017 other than the aforementioned Drive Mode selector. Yet, Hyundai claims fuel economy is improved by a full mile per gallon compared with the 2016 model year (Canadian ratings remain unspecified).

Hyundai Santa Fe Sport buyers will be pleased to know that, in order to meet increased market demand, production will increase at the Montgomery, Alabama manufacturing facility.
