The all-new 2017 Ford Super Duty, which was unveiled yesterday, is the toughest, smartest, and most capable Super Duty ever, the company says. The lineup includes five models – XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum.

Shedding 350 lbs thanks to the use of lighter materials, the new Super Duty is built on an all-new, fully boxed frame comprised of more than 95% high-strength steel that proves up to 24 times stiffer than the previous frame. For the first time, the Super Duty body uses high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy, which is more dent- and ding-resistant than the outgoing steel body and not subject to red rust corrosion. Meanwhile, the Super Duty chassis cab features an all-new, high-strength steel frame with an open-C-channel design behind the cab to enable easy aftermarket body upfit and modification.

In terms of technology, as many as seven cameras will help customers see more angles and monitor conditions surrounding the truck, and provide better trailering than ever before. In particular, a 360-degree camera system uses four digital, high-definition cameras to give the driver a bird’s-eye view surrounding the Super Duty. A first-ever, factory-available trailer camera can be attached to a trailer to improve visibility when backing up. LED headlights and taillights increase visibility.

Furthermore, the 2017 Ford Super Duty is available with SYNC 3 featuring conversational voice recognition and a tablet-style 8” touch screen, a blind spot information system with trailer tow, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and collision warning with brake support.

Finally, the new Ford Super Duty is powered by a standard 6.2L V8 gasoline engine equipped with the new TorqShift-G transmission or an optional 6.7L Power Stroke V8 turbo-diesel engine. In addition to these two units, the Super Duty chassis cab offers a 6.8L V10 gasoline engine.
