Porsche unveiled its 2013 Cayenne GTS at the Beijing Auto Show this week, with a more powerful engine, more dynamic power delivery, tauter chassis, lower ride height and some sporty goodies, filling what Porsche thinks is a gap between the S and the Turbo. (Really?)
A 420-hp V8 based on the Cayenne S engine is underhood, mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic S with integrated start/stop function, propelling the GTS from zero to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. Top track speed is 261 km/h.
The tauter chassis is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management, air suspension and a 20-mm lower ride height than the S.
The GTS borrows its front end from the Turbo with frames and trims in high-gloss black, prominent side skirts, wider wheel arches, and roof spoiler with twin-wing profile.
Inside, it’s all upscale leather and Alcantara with front sports seats, complete with eight adjustment options.
Cayenne GTS starts at $93,600 and arrives this fall.
