Good things in small packages
The CVT transmission is equipped with manual mode, which I tend to use a lot in vehicles that exhibit a lot of rubber-band, lurching shifts. This one was fine left on its own, responding immediately when asked. Selecting "Sport" mode quickens the throttle response for more spirited driving – nimble and responsive, the B 200 Turbo is actually quite a lot of fun to drive.

Handling is tight and the suspension firm yet not at all harsh. Even though it's a tall vehicle, there's not an overabundance of body lean in the tight curves, although I wasn't tempted to throw it around the off-ramps. Fuel economy is rated at 9.5 L/100km city and 7.4 highway; I averaged about 9.8 L/100km. And that's premium fuel too.

Overall, the B 200 Turbo is an enjoyable car to spend time in – performing all the functions of an all-around daily driver, yet throwing in a bit of comfort and style.

Far from watering down the nameplate, the B 200 Turbo offers a premium alternative to those who want the utility and manoeuvrability of an urban runabout, but without sacrificing any luxury.
