Unveiled at the Paris Auto Show, the GTS's 3.8-litre engine has had intake and exhaust modifications, bumping the output up from 385 to 405 hp. Standard is a six-speed manual transmission, with an optional 7-speed PDK gearbox. PDK-equipped models fitted with a Sport Chrono Package Plus should hit 100 km from 0 in a blistering 4 seconds. It rides on the same 1.7-inch wider rear track as the Carrera 4 all-wheel drive model, hence wider wheels behind.

Distinguishing it from lesser models, the GTS wears a SportDesign front air dam, unique black side skirts and rear valance, and "Carrera GTS" logos on the doors and decklid. It rides on 19" black centre-mount RS Spyder wheels clad in super-sticky rubber. Inside changes include Alcantara trim on seats and panels and a new three-spoke SportDesign steering wheel.

On sale next spring, the GTS will be available in both coupe and cabriolet models.

Paying tribute to the legendary 356 Speedster, Porsche has also unveiled the new 911 Speedster in LA. A product of Porsche's in-house tuning division, only 356 model numbers of the new two-seat roadster will be produced.

Exterior design features include the Carrera GT-inspired double-bubble clamshell, a short, raked windshield and manual soft top. Powered by a reworked version of the 3.8-litre flat-six engine, producing 408 hp, the Speedster's sole gearbox will be the 7-speed PDK transmission. The performance-oriented suspension has been lowered 60 mm, and includes Porsche Active Suspension Management. The rear-wheel drive roadster rides on the wider Carrera 4 platform, and features exclusive Pure Blue or Carrera White paint, Fuchs Sport Classic wheels and a custom aero kit.
