The Bose 8 speaker sound system was impressive and the addition of XM satellite radio was a welcome bonus. Mind you, whoever fitted the satellite antenna on my tester was probably one of the few idiots at GM, as they'd placed it to one side, near the front of the roof. Maybe it was the most convenient place for wiring, but it certainly wasn't the best place from an aesthetics viewpoint.

The Escalade EXT drives like a truck... well, what did you expect me to say? After all, it is a truck. That said, the ride feels softer than most and the cabin area is extremely quiet which adds to the vehicle's luxury feel.

The 403 hp Vortec engine.
Power comes from a 6.2 L Vortec 6200 V8 with VVT. The unit produces 403 hp and 417 lb.-ft of torque. Naturally, this unit is not going to win many fuel-efficiency awards but it improves on the previous power-plant, and certainly offers an abundance of available power.

The auto box works well. It is smooth in operation and there is a manual nudge up / nudge down feature which I found rather cool.

All in all, the Cadillac Escalade EXT is exactly what we all know it to be... It's the absolute pinnacle of the pick-up truck world.
