OK, what does all this mean? It means that the Sebring is a midsize sedan, but not as large as the domestics and larger than the top selling imports. Like Dodge did with the 'different' Durango SUV and Dakota pickup truck, Chrysler found a size niche for its Sebring that fits neatly between its competitors.

And why not consider a domestic over the class dominant Toyota Camry and Honda Accord? The Sebring certainly makes a good first impression. Its sculpted lines incorporate Chrysler's winged emblem front and center, overtop a chrome-embellished wide-mouth, ovoid-shaped egg-crate grille that would do a Ferrari proud. The rest of the car is very well balanced, artful arcs and elegant curves sit atop subtle wheel well bulges resulting in an athletic stance. It shows a continuity of design that easily surpasses anything in its domestic class and is a long way beyond most of its Asian rivals too.

Inside the Sebring the elegant theme continues. A clean, thoughtful approach has been taken in designing the dash, with wood grain and metal accents highlighting but not overwhelming the interior motif. A great looking instrument package incorporates white-faced chronograph style gauges while interior plastics are better than average. The front seats are truly comfortable with more lateral support than most of its Asian and all of its American competition. Rear seat accommodation is ample for this class, with excellent shoulder room, good headroom and decent legroom. Inside and out the Sebring displays a European design signature that merits respect.
