2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan - A Facelift and New Features Upgrade Popular Model

The 2003 Chrysler Sebring shown here, virtually identical to the 2001 and 2002 versions, was already an attractive sedan. It large, oval grille, headlamps and front winged logo placement have been heavily modified for 2004. (Photo: DaimlerChrysler)

One of the most pleasing model redesigns launched at the 2001 New York International Auto Show was Chrysler's Sebring line that included its popular convertible, a coupe which has since been discontinued in Canada, and the 4-door sedan. Tying in styling cues from its larger Concorde sibling, the Sebring sedan was highlighted by an elongated, oval eggcrate grille. For its segment it was, and still is, stunningly handsome.

The next-generation Chrysler Sebring sedan gets a deeper, narrower grille opening, similar to its larger Concorde sibling. Its winged logo is now prominantly integrated into the top half of the grille, while scalloped headlamps meld into reshaped front fenders. (Photo: Trevor Hofmann, Canadian Auto Press)

For 2004 Chrysler has reworked the midsize Chrysler to once again harmonize it with the recently restyled Concorde sedan. While I would have initially thought it difficult to improve on the current design the new Sebring sedan has much greater presence, integrating the legendary winged Chrysler badge into the top of its now deeper, narrower grille opening while adding new scalloped headlight clusters. Newly designed brake cooling vents balance out the front fascia while chrome side moldings are replaced with thinner body-color protective strips. The hood, for all intents and purposes, looks unchanged.
